How do I become an approved carrier with Alpha Logistics?

Onboarding is a two-step process. First, complete your vetting through Highway.com — this verifies your FMCSA safety rating, authority, and insurance. Once approved through Highway, submit your DOT number, W-9, and Certificate of Insurance through our Carrier Portal to complete setup.

How long does the onboarding process take?

Most carriers are fully onboarded within 24–48 hours once all required documents are submitted. Highway vetting is typically completed the same day. Delays are usually caused by missing or expired insurance certificates.

What documents do I need to submit?

You'll need your DOT number, a completed W-9, and a Certificate of Insurance showing the required minimums ($100K cargo, $1M auto liability). The COI must be submitted directly from your insurance producer — we cannot accept certificates emailed by the carrier.

Do you work with owner-operators?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We work with owner-operators, small fleets, and large carriers. As long as you meet our insurance minimums and pass Highway vetting, we're open to working with you.

Question 5

What are the minimum insurance requirements?

We require a minimum of $100,000 in cargo insurance and $1,000,000 in auto liability insurance. These minimums apply to all carriers regardless of load type. Some specialized or high-value loads may require higher coverage — your coordinator will notify you if that applies.

Who needs to send the Certificate of Insurance?

The COI must be sent directly from your insurance producer (your agent or broker). We do not accept certificates forwarded by the carrier. Have your agent send it to opsone@alphalog.us with your company name and DOT number in the subject line.

Question 7

What happens if my insurance lapses or expires?

If your insurance expires or is cancelled, you will be placed on hold and cannot be dispatched on new loads until updated certificates are received. We monitor carrier insurance status through Highway and will notify you before your policy expires when possible.

How do I find and book loads with Alpha Logistics?

Once you're an approved carrier, our team will reach out directly when we have loads that match your equipment and lanes. You can also call or email our operations team to let us know your availability and preferred lanes.

Question 9

What types of freight does Alpha Logistics move?

Accepted Answer

We move a wide range of freight including full truckload (FTL), LTL, expedited, flatbed, and refrigerated shipments. We serve industries including manufacturing, medical devices, aerospace, consumer products, and government programs.

What equipment types do you need?

We regularly need dry van, flatbed, step deck, reefer, and power-only equipment. Specialized equipment for oversized or high-value freight is also in demand. Let your coordinator know what you're running.

Can I negotiate rates?

Yes. Our team works with carriers to find rates that work for both sides. We aim to build long-term relationships, not just fill loads at the lowest possible rate. Carriers who are reliable and communicate well typically get better opportunities over time.

Question 12

What are your standard payment terms?

Accepted Answer

Our standard payment terms are net 30 from receipt of a clean invoice with all required documentation (signed BOL, rate confirmation, and any required POD). We process payments promptly once all documents are received.

Quick pay options may be available depending on the load and circumstances. Contact our operations team to discuss quick pay arrangements — additional fees may apply.

Question 14

What do I need to submit to get paid?

Accepted Answer

Submit a signed Bill of Lading (BOL), the rate confirmation, and proof of delivery (POD) if required. Send all documents to opsone@alphalog.us with your load number in the subject line. Incomplete submissions will delay payment.
